weekend happenings

Here’s what I was up to this weekend:

Fingerless gloves

Knitting up a fingerless glove for my left hand – three attempts were needed to fix my gauge, placement of thumb, etc.  Now onto the right one

The Birth House

Starting The Birth House by Ami McKay.  I know I’m late as this book received huge praise several years ago but it has been on my ‘to read’ list for awhile and I finally picked it up from a used bookstore last week

Wrapping gifts

Making a huge dent in my x-mas shopping list (and not leaving the wrapping until the last minute)

inspiration – industrial wooden spool

industrial wooden spool

via Mad About the House

This space is perfectly imperfect.  A beat up runner casually rolled over a concrete floor.  Pillows randomly thrown on the sofa and books piled up on the floor.  The industrial wooden spool used as a coffee table also keeps the room from being too sweet with the addition of pale pink accents.

It inspires me.

Here’s what I was up to this weekend:

Avenue Antiques

Running errands and making a stop at Inside Avenue Antiques (I think these little elves are creepy but in a good way)

Mid Mod Market

Visiting the Mid Mod Market (this is a photo of Few and Between’s booth)

Vintage with Flair

Shopping for holiday vintage finds at the Vintage with Flair Christmas in the Country Market

Vintage with Flair - 2

This basket was $30 and the vendor, Poofs Potpourrie, had loaded it up with a lot more than $30 worth of vintage finds
